unknown weight gain!!

in the last year i have gained a stone and i have no idea why. i eat a very very healthy diet, i eat no carbs after 3pm and i only consume roughly 1600 or 1700 calories a day. i also go to the gym 4 times a week. im getting very upset about this and i cant seem to stop it. every time i get on the scales im another lb heavier even though i barely ate the previous day! im not pregnant and i have had a blood test to check my metabolic rate which came back fine. any sugestions??

the eating no carbs after 3pm thing is a bit of a fad... the only thing this serves to do is prevent you from eating carb heavy food at dinner time reducing your overall calories, it has no other benefit. I'd suggest you very closely log everything you eat and maybe get a heart rate monitor so you know how many calories you are burning at the gym. For most people, 1 hour of exercise every day is needed to keep weight off!

I suggest that you see your doctor and have your thyroid levels checked also ask for thyroid antibodies to be checked as well.
